At A. O. Smith we offer an extensive range of residential water treatment products. In this range you can distinguish two different types: Point Of Entry (POE) and Point Of Use (POU). A point of entry product is used where the water enters your building. An advantage of this system is connected taps in the entire building will have treated water.
A point of use product is applied in the area of use; just before the faucet for instance. This can be easily applied in an existing building or infrastructure.
We have made a selection of products that use the following technologies: filtration, softening (only POE), reverse osmosis and UV.
Solid matter in your water, like residue, rust, sand and other particles reduce the quality of your water. This can also have an effect on your appliances. Our filtration products offer solutions to clean your water of these particles.
Our A.O. Smith water softening systems remove high levels of lime with minimal salt and water consumption. As a result, the lime scale deposits that can build up in fittings and your washing-, heating- and boiling- systems can be reduced to a minimum.
The reverse osmosis products use a technique in which the water is forced through a partially permeable membrane to remove ions, molecules and particles. Reverse osmosis can remove many types of dissolved and suspended chemical and biological species from water.
In UV technology, we use ultraviolet light to dissolve the cell structure of microorganisms in water such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and neutralize them. Water is let through the product where is it exposed to the ultraviolet light. The water leaves the product through a filter.
